Special Care

Puppies and Kittens too young to be adopted and those pets requiring special rehabilitation care or females waiting until spaying is most healthful (i.e. they came to us in heat or started their heat cycle shortly after arrival) are pictured here.

We are not in any hurry to separate kittens and puppies from their mothers while the little ones still need their mothers tender loving care.   Because maturation rates vary, we test them for readiness and take input from the mothers as to when they're ready for adoption into a human family.    When puppies and kittens get a good start, they make a  much better, happier pet.

When a Special Care pet becomes ready for adoption their picture is moved to the appropriate Adoption page.
