Giving Tuesday saves homeless kittens!

Every year, Humane Haven takes in pregnant momma cats. These cats are happy to get off the
streets and have a warm space to finish out their pregnancy. Our volunteers keep a watchful
eye on them to see how they are doing and be there for them after the kittens are born.

We have a couple volunteers who will take in mommas and kittens into their homes and the
kittens nurse and get bigger and stronger. As you can imagine, it is a handful to have 6 or 7
baby kittens around, all wanting attention and all wanting to get to know their surroundings!
Whatever they need, we’re here for them.

At the appropriate time, all of the kittens are taken to the vet to make sure they are healthy.
Not only do they get their shots, but we make sure all of these kittens are spayed or neutered;
we don’t want to add to the kitten population! It is not cheap to take care of a litter of kittens,
but we do it because it is the right thing to do.

By getting a pregnant momma cat off the street, we are not only getting her spayed after she
delivers and nurses her kittens, but we’re making sure the kittens are fixed and find loving
homes so those kittens don’t wind up on the street creating more kittens. We try to break that
cycle as much as we can.

We do more than provide cats with food, litter, toys and socialization. We’re there for them
when they need medical care, rehabilitation, or a warm place to deliver kittens. And we’re
there to socialize and care for them daily as they wait their turn to find their forever families.

This is what we do. This is why we do it. But we need your help to continue.

Our need for food, litter, treats, toys and monetary donations is year-round. If you want to
donate items through our Chewy.com wish list, you can do so at https://bit.ly/3qQrlb8

If you want to make a monetary donation, please use the donation form on our website at http://www.hhas.org/donation/

Again, thank you ❤ so much for your continued support as we find loving homes for our cats and kittens. 🐈
